The Client Brief
The homeowners had recently completed a rear extension with large glazed doors opening onto the garden. The existing outdoor space felt disconnected and underused, with no clear layout or structure.
They wanted:
A garden that felt like an extension of the living space
Defined areas for entertaining and family life
A planting scheme that softened the architecture and provided year-round interest
The Design Approach
We reworked the layout to align directly with the new interior spaces, creating strong visual and physical connections between house and garden.
Key design elements included:
A clear axis from the kitchen into the garden
Layered planting to soften hard landscaping
Materials chosen to complement the interior finishes
Subtle zoning to create multiple usable spaces
The Outcome
The finished garden now functions as an outdoor room — used daily for dining, relaxing, and entertaining. The design enhances both lifestyle and the overall value of the property.
